Review of the Constance Ephelia Seychelles
The Seychelles is the ultimate paradise getaway and for me the Constance was where I needed to stay but at an average £450 a night it was well out of our price range.
I spent weeks looking at where to stay until one day Constance flashed up on offer with netflights.com £220 a night half board!! I was so giddy and excited so booked immediately. I kept thinking that when we got there they’d tell me it wasn’t an authentic booking!
We booked 5 nights in a junior suite and flew from Abu Dhabi with Etihad (great flights)
Driving up to the Constance we were all excited, the views were stunning! It took 40 minutes from the ferry terminal and cost €65 quite expensive but o so worth it.
We were greeted, booked in ( big relief no fake booking ha) and shown to our room after a short ride on a golf buggy.

The rooms
We stayed in a junior suite, which was extremely luxurious and tastefully decorated with a terrace and seating area facing the pools. Each block of rooms had a pool outside to share so they were never crowded.
The rooms were air conditioned with all necessities you’d need including some beautiful smelling bubble bath! A complementary glass bottle of water (to minimize plastic waste) was left in our room everyday although I do think more water should be provided.
The hotel has 330 rooms with even the tropical garden view rooms being double the size of your average hotel room!! There is also complimentary WIFI in all rooms.

Restaurants and Food
We stayed half board due to the fact we had read great reviews about the food at the Constance and sheer ease with a child.
There are 5 restaurants at the Ephilia. We mainly ate at the buffet restaurant Corossol due to the fact that it was quick and easy with a small child. I have to say the food was out of this world! It has to be the best buffet service I have ever had in my life!
The buffet (which is fully air-conditioned) offers different sections from pizza and pasta to steaks and Asian cuisine. Every night they would have different themes we particularly enjoyed the Indian evening full of the most delicious curries and nanns, just amazing.
We decided to try Adam & Eve which is a Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is situated outside on the beautiful white sands of the Seychelles. The same night we went they had a “Texan” themed night at the buffet, I was really disappointed to have missed this but we wanted to try out one of the other restaurants.
Adam and Eve was lovely, the staff were fantastic and very accommodating to my wheat intolerance. However, I would recommend eating at the buffet if you have kids. The food is outstanding and it’s so much more convenient . Please be mindful that life is paced so much slower here then at home so things can take a little longer, but who cares when your in Paradise!

The Pool
There are 5 main pools at the Constance Ephelia. The blocks of rooms all face their own pool so are never over crowded. There are shallow parts for younger children and fresh cold drinking water at the side of the pool as well as restrooms.
The sun loungers are extremely comfortable which was great for me with my bad back. Bar food and drink can be brought over to your sun lounger too. We found the pool areas very tranquil and peaceful.
There are also sand pits with buckets, spades and a whole host of other toys next to the pool.

The Beach
There are two main beaches at the Constance, North beach and south beach. We stayed near the south beach and found this beach to be our favorite, whereas most people will say north beach is nicer. South beach is a lot quieter and you can walk out for miles with little sand banks popping up out of the water. There is however no sun loungers on this beach at all, its pretty much deserted, which we actually loved.
You can take a buggy over to the north beach but be prepared to wait as I said before everything is very laid back. Once we got to North beach it truly was beautiful but far busier. There were groups of people that weren’t staying at the hotel on the beach and no beach sun loungers. There was a lovely swing that we sat on and had a drink, which was lovely.
There were little walk ways near the sports center that leads up the hills and the views were breathtaking, I ended getting bit by a mosquito and blowing up as I always do! I forgot to put my mosquito spray on my legs argh!! So beware lots of mosquitos in the lush areas, to be expected in paradise though. There were little deserted beaches on our walk, just pure paradise. Highly recommend going for a stroll.

Things to do for kids at the Constance Ephelia
If you have kids it’s always important for them to have things to do so I was very impressed with amount of kids toys in the sand pit area and kids play apparatus, our son had countless hours playing happily in the sunshine.
There is also a kids club for 4-11 year old unfortunately Brody was too young to enjoy the kids club but I have to say it looked great. The Constance Kids’ Club is open daily from 9am-8pm and is equipped with indoor and outdoor play area, arts and crafts sessions, playhouses and games. There are different activity programme’s, including visiting the nearby mangroves, pedalo in the sea and feeding the onsite giant tortoises.
As Brody was too young we enjoyed taking a pedalo out on south beach ourselves as a family which; they can be hires from the sports center at the end of the beach free of charge.

Spa and Medical Center
The spa at the Constance is so tranquil and sublime…. not that I got chance to use it with having an energetic 3 year old to look after!! No I only got to see it as the medical center is located there! Lucky me! I needed to see the doctor on call and the service was fantastic.
I had a buggy pick me up and bring me straight to the doctor, no messing. I wish I could comment on the spa but unfortunately I didn’t get the opportunity with so many things going on. There are 14 single treatment rooms and 4 double, Sauna, Steam room, Thermal pool, Jacuzzi , Cold plunge pool, Kneipp foot path and a Reflective pool. The perfect indulgent treat.
Excursions from the Constance Ephelia
The hotel offers trips to Curieuse Island which is a MUST if you are staying here ( see my blog post Curieuse Islamd for more details ) seeing turtles wandering about is fantastic. Our son loved it and petted them like dogs no fear at all he even fed them leaves.
La domaine has a sister hotel located on La Digue which we passed on a day trip. We would love to stay there one day as the standard at la reserve was brilliant.
Things to do at the Constance Ephelia
The Constance offers free activities such as gymnasium, 4 tennis courts, squash court. They also offer free non-motorised water sports such as pedalo, catamaran, windsurfing and kayak. We especially loved the pedalo.
They offer many other activities with a supplement ranging from Fishing, yoga lessons on request, bicycles rental, climbing wall/Zip line – for guests of all abilities from 3 years to 70+ and instructors available.
