Having searched through lots of hotels in Fira we decided on The Kamares Apartments, mostly because of their cave style rooms, hot tubs on the balcony’s and the most amazing view of the Volcano.

The Kamares Apartments are situated on the Cliffside of the Caldara in Fira, one of the most pictured places in Santorini. These apartments offer the best authentic Santorini experience with outstanding views of the Volcano, perfect for watching the sun set right from your very own private hot tub!! Now that’s an experience you won’t forget.

Having arrived at night we didn’t really get to see the apartments surroundings but boy were we blown away when we opened our door to our private patio in the morning!!! One word… Breathtaking!

The pictures below show what we were greeted to when walking to our room, we were blown away with the beauty not only the views but the apartments.

We booked the Deluxe apartment with outdoor hot tub and views of the volcano. The room was extremely spacious with a living room, bedroom and bathroom with a spa bath. This room can accommodate 4 people comfortably.

We emailed ahead and asked for a cot for our son and this was provided without any hassle and was perfect for us. The living room has a sofa bed if you have older children. I have to say I loved this room, it was exactly what I expected a Greek Cliffside cave apartment to look like and it truly lived up to my expectations.

What I especially loved about our room was the terrace with our own hot tub looking out to the volcano. We spent many hours playing with our son in the hot tub whilst enjoying the spectacular view.

Our apartment was a beautiful whitewashed building with blue shutters, so authentic and great for pictures. If you do visit the Kamares make sure you book this room it is the best one for views from the hot tub.

The view is simply stunning, there are not many places you will find a better sunset than in Santorini and I can’t think of anywhere better than on our balcony in the hot tub with a glass of wine!

The sunsets and views are breathtaking here and you won’t find a much better viewpoint than from the Kamares Apartments.

A lovely touch to the Kamares apartments is that they set breakfast up for you every morning on your private terrace at your chosen time. Each evening you hand in your breakfast order and it’s ready every morning. We loved this and have wonderful memories sat around the table eating breakfast. Breakfast consisted of cereal, toast, fruit, pastries, juices and tea/coffee. Perfect start to the day.

The staff at the Kamares are so helpful and inviting. They helped us with directions and recommendations. Couldn’t fault them and the apartments were always spotless.

The apartments are in the perfect location, close enough to walk to all the shops and restaurants but not too close for any noise. It was so relaxing and peaceful at night. It takes around 3 minutes’ walk into the centre of Fira along the walk way that connects Fira to Imerovigi and Oia. So, if you fancy the walk it leads directly to the Kamares.

Our favourite Restaurant was only a 2-minute walk from the apartments. Naoussa restaurant has the best authentic greek food and they are so friendly and welcoming to children. A must if you are in Fira and I would definitely go back just to eat at this restaurant; tip try the beef stefado and the moussaka they are amazing! The view from the restaurant is also very impressive, you can get a great view of Fira from here.
