Our Stay at The Marriott Regents Park London (Review)
Having lived in the UK all my life I have only actually been to London once for a day, crazy isn’t it? especially now knowing what a wonderfully diverse city it is.
We wanted to stay for a few days in central London with the boys so needed somewhere child friendly with a pool! My boys love to swim so this is something we always look for. It was also very important to us that the hotel was following safety guidelines and was safe for us to visit during the pandemic.
We decided on the Marriotts Regent park, mostly due to the fantastic family package they have on offer at the moment but more on that in a minute.

About Marriott Regents Park
The Marriott Regents Park is located in North West London not too far from Regents Park and perfect for exploring London. It offers style and comfort to its guests with all the latest amenities. The rooms and suites at the 4 Star Regents Park have recently been refurbished to a very high standard, we were so impressed with the decor in the room and have been inspired to decorate our bathroom similarly.

First Impressions
When we arrived at Marriott Regents Park, the first thing my youngest shouted (he’s two) was “elephant” at first we didn’t know what he was talking about, surely there wasn’t an elephant at the hotel but low and behold there were actually two!! Obviously not real but two beautiful wicker elephants outside the hotel.
As soon as we got to the doors there were hand sanitizer stations for us to use before entering the lobby, automatic ones so you don’t have to touch them.

We then walked into an alluring modern lobby. The decor was classy and chic but yet again we heard the words “Mummy Elephant’ and he was right, there in the corner was a very familiar-looking elephant. “Elmer” I’ll get to him in a minute.
We were welcomed warmly by the lovely lady at reception who informed us our room was ready for us and told us all the information we needed to know about our stay. She then handed the boys a lovely “Elmer the Elephant” book each much to their joy.
Location
Location is key to me when exploring a city, you want to be in easy reach of things, especially with young kids, so we found Regents Park perfect for exploring parts of London such as Primrose Hill, Camden Park, and Notting Hill (we paid £12 to Notting Hill in a taxi which took around 10 minutes)
Having arrived from Euston Station we jumped on the underground to Swiss Cottage station which took around 20 minutes, from here it’s around a 5-minute walk to Marriott Regents Park so it’s a very convenient place to stay if you are arriving from London Euston.
If you want to head into central London to do some sightseeing then it will take you around 12 minutes on the underground straight to Waterloo.

Elmer the Elephant Package
You’re probably wondering why my boys were given an Emer the Elephant book, well that’s because we were staying on the “Family Fun with Elmer the Elephant” package.
As it’s the Elmer The Patchwork Elephants 30th Anniversary Marriott Regents Park has a wonderful package for families visiting the hotel. The package includes an overnight stay in a deluxe family room with a welcome gift for your child. They get to choose one gift either an Elmer book, backpack, costume, or comfort blanket as well as some sweets, always a winner.

My boys were so happy with their books and ate the chocolates they were given straight away, we didn’t get a look in!
It was lovely for the boys to have a little gift at the hotel, it allowed us to unpack and research where we were going with the WiFi which is included in the Elmer Package.

Our Room
I’m not going to lie. I love a cozy homely hotel room, I’m extremely fussy when it comes to where we stay. I’ve stayed at some amazing hotels where the rooms just aren’t welcoming and relaxing and it ruins the whole experience for me.
This was most certainly not the case with The Regents Park. As soon as we walked in I knew we could relax and feel at home here. I was impressed with the amount of space we had in the room, with two cases and a pram we still had lots of room to move about.

Our room had two comfortable double beds with warm cozy lighting but my absolute favorite feature of the room was the fact it had two windows, well actually one window and a balcony with views out over London. The boys were able to spot the London Eye and the Shard from our room.
The bathroom had a lovely big shower and was decorated tastefully with gorgeous smelling toiletries on the side. The conditioner by Acca Pacca left my hair feeling amazing, I’ve been trying to find a good conditioner for ages so I was absolutely thrilled to find one on our trip to the Marriott.

There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room with disposable cups so you could take them out with you to enjoy whilst exploring the city.
With the current climate, Marriott is allowing you to cancel your reservation within 24 hours of your stay so you can book with confidence.

Restaurant & Bar
We booked our time slot for breakfast with the reception the night before and made our way down in the morning using the hand sanitizers at the lifts and at the door to breakfast.
We were shown to our table whilst all staff wore masks and so did we until we were seated at our table. The Marriott Regents Park was fantastic when it came to cleanliness and all safety measures that were in place made us feel completely at ease.

As soon as we were seated I was asked what gluten-free options I would like to be cooked whilst the boys went up and chose their food from behind a shielded food area where they were served by a very friendly man.
The full English breakfast was delicious and we were so impressed with the selection on offer. We all enjoyed the hot chocolate and the boys enjoyed their bacon butties, filled their tummies for a day out exploring London.
There is also room service available until 10 pm if you want to snuggle up and have food in your room.

Pool and Facilities
We always look for a hotel with a pool, especially when we visit a city as it’s lovely to come back from a day exploring to have a splash in the pool or to wake up in the morning before breakfast and go for a swim.
We found some cute little slippers in the room for the boys and oh my did my youngest look so sweet in his little swimming trunks and slippers going down to the pool.

It’s important to book your swim slot as soon as you get to the hotel. We booked two slots, one for the evening and one for the morning.
The pool and changing rooms were spotless and only a handful of people were in their social distancing so it was easy to maintain. The hotel offers kids swimming lessons so a few lanes were partitioned off for them but there was still enough space for the boys to play whilst Mummy had 5 minutes peace on the comfortable loungers by the side of the room.
The sauna and steam room were open but only allowed people from the same home to enter. There is also a gym if you like to work out, my kids are enough exercise for me so we didn’t get to use the gym.

Hospitality and Safety
This is something that came out top for me at the Marriott Regents Park, the staff was all so warm and friendly. They would go out of their way to stop and talk to the boys which I always think is such a lovely thing to do, it’s the little things like this that make a stay special and memorable.

Like I said before we felt completely safe in the Marriott Regents Park. There were hand sanitizing stations everywhere in the hotel and staff wore masks at all times. We really couldn’t fault them and would feel confident returning to the hotel.

Overall Experience
2020 has been a tough year and we have missed traveling terribly but our trip to London was probably the highlight of our year and our stay at The Marriott Regents Park was just fantastic! The boys haven’t stopped talking about it since we’ve got home and keep asking to go “back to the Elmer hotel”
It was lovely to escape the reality of this year for a few days and we seriously can’t wait to return to London in the future and we most definitely will be staying at The Marriott Regents Park.
Although our stay at the Marriott Regents Park was hosted all thoughts and opinions are ours and 100% truthful.
